David, who has a Ph.D. in astronomy from the University of Manchester, England, is the author of about 50 books on science, astronomy, and mathematics, including Equations of Eternity (a New York Times notable book of the year), Deep Time (described as “brilliant” by Arthur C. Clarke), Zen Physics, The Universal Book of Mathematics, Teleportation: the Impossible Leap, We Are Not Alone, and, most recently, Mayday! A History of Flight.
He also lectures widely, maintains a major science-themed information website, www.daviddarling.info, and is a singer and songwriter. He has two grown-up children and lives with his wife in Dundee, Scotland.
Aged 16, Agnijo is a phenomenally-talented young mathematician who has been a student of David’s for the past four years. In 2017, Agnijo trained with the UK International Maths Olympiad team in Hungary and takes part of a special maths mentoring program run by the University of Cambridge. He lives with his parents in Broughty Ferry, near Dundee.
